Catch up with 1st Team striker Jordan Samuel

Jordan, How have your first couple of months been with Corinthians F.C?

The first few months were definitely a learning curve. Dealing with the harsh results faced in the opening few games wasn’t the most ideal situation to be in as I felt we deserved more than what the score lines presented. 

But in these times was when I found out what this club is really about, having that backing from the committee, fans, players & management showed a strength and togetherness that motivated me to push on and give back to all that have showed there faith in me. Now things are on the up, hopefully everyone is able to see how good we really are as a team! 

You have managed to score a couple of important goals already, have you always been a striker? 

Being a striker was all I knew up until I joined men’s football. With management picking up on my dribbling ability, the intelligence to find the space to drop into the pockets and play, to having the pace to run in behind, I’m very flexible to play anywhere along the front and even just behind the striker. When I’m not scoring goals I’m contributing to the team with my work rate as giving 100% is what leads to the rewards of scoring goals! 

How are you finding the squad? How is the changing room atmosphere ? 

We’ve got a quality group of players who have the passion and hunger to win. Always demanding more and constantly wanting to improve so couldn’t have asked to be around a better group to be around! 

Which players have you been most impressed with so far this season? 

I could be here all day mentioning about every players individual performances but for me I have to give credit to the skipper Dan Beestone. He does everything you could ask for as a captain. Week in week out, performs consistently both from a defensive and attacking end, so deserves all the recognition. 

Have you set yourself any personal goals at Corinthians FC.

As someone who wants to be the very best, setting personal goals is a must! The objective from when I joined was to become top goalscorer and win the league and that’s not going to change now!
